In his current role as Catering Director at Assumption Hospitality, Connor oversees the guest experience and event execution with a focus on efficiency and reliability. His experience with team coordination and operational planning has elevated the level of service provided at Assumption Hospitality Catering. Connor holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration, with a minor in Finance and Accounting, from Hartwick College, bringing a fresh perspective to campus. His career spans a wide range of settings—from contract foodservice and high-end restaurants to luxury hotels, catering operations, and large-scale wedding venues. This diverse background has shaped his dynamic, hands-on approach to hospitality and cuisine. Chef Balut thrives in the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of the culinary world. He embraces the unpredictability of each day, knowing that success is earned through dedication, creativity, and hard work. His commitment to excellence is driven by a desire to make every dining experience memorable, especially for the students he serves at Assumption University. His goal is simple: To have students, team members, and the community proud of the program, offerings, and University. Outside the kitchen, Chef Balut is an avid nature enthusiast. He spends his free time hiking, kayaking, fishing, and foraging with his wife and children whenever the weather allows. Indoors, he’s a voracious reader, always seeking new knowledge and inspiration.
